Application and Characteristics of Meltblown Non-woven Cloth

Meltblown non-woven cloth used as composite material

Meltblown non-woven cloth is mainly used as composite material, filtering material, insulation material, hygiene products, oil-absorbing material, cleaning cloth (rag), battery diaphragm, etc. It is widely used in medical care, automotive industry, filtering materials, environmental protection and other fields. In some countries, meltblown non-woven cloth is mainly used as a two-step SMS material, medical and healthcare materials, and coating materials. In addition, wiping and absorbing materials, filtering and barrier materials are also important applications of meltblown fabrics.

Due to the high resistance to static water pressure, good air permeability, and filtering effect of the composite material of meltblown fabric and spunbond fabric, especially the composite material with a film has good barrier properties, and the filtering efficiency for non-oily particles can reach more than 99%. Medical protective clothing made from composite materials with a quantitative specification of 60 to 100 g/m2 can effectively block microorganisms, particles and fluids, and have good protective effects against viruses such as SARS and HIV.

Meltblown composite materials treated with electrostatic polar bodies have the characteristics of low initial resistance, large dust holding capacity, and high filtering efficiency when used for air filtration. They are widely used in air purification in electronic manufacturing, food, materials, chemical industry, airport, hotel, and other places. Meltblown non-woven cloth is mainly used as composite material, filtering material, insulation material, hygiene products, oil-absorbing material, cleaning cloth, battery diaphragm, etc. It is widely used in medical care, automotive industry, filtering materials, environmental protection and other fields.

Meltblown non-woven cloth used as liquid filtration material

Meltblown non-woven cloth can also be used as liquid filtration material, which can filter particles with a diameter of 0.22 to 10μm, such as bacteria, blood, and macromolecules. It is mainly used in the filtering of photolithography resist in the electronic industry, filtering of drugs, biologics, and synthetic plasma products in the pharmaceutical industry, filtering of beverages, beer, and syrup in the food industry, precision filtering of electroplating solution, purification filtration of waterworks, and electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment, environmental wastewater filtration, etc.

Meltblown non-woven cloth has the characteristics of large surface area, small voids, and high porosity. For example, the necessary area of meltblown non-woven cloth with an average diameter of 3μm is 14617cm2/g, while the specific surface area of spunbond non-woven cloth with an average diameter of 15.3μm is only 2883cm2/g. Because the thermal conductivity of air is much lower than that of ordinary fibers, the air in the pores of meltblown non-woven cloth makes its thermal conductivity even lower, and the heat loss transmitted by meltblown non-woven cloth fiber material is very small. Moreover, the static air on the surface area of countless ultra-fine fibers prevents heat exchange caused by air flow, so it has good insulation and thermal insulation effects.
