Disposable mask
Disposable masks are made of two layers of 28 grams of non-woven fabric; breathable and suitable for electronics factories/food industry and other daily use; no obstruction to virus effect;
Medical shell mask
Mainly used in medical environments with high requirements such as medical clinics, laboratories, and operating rooms, the safety coefficient is relatively high, and it has strong resistance to bacteria and viruses.
Medical surgical masks can block particles larger than 4 microns. The test results of the mask's airtightness in a laboratory environment in a hospital show that according to general medical standards, the penetration rate of medical surgical masks for particles of 0.3 microns is 18.3%.
In the absence of KN95 masks, medical surgical masks can also be used to block most of the viruses attached to droplets.
Considerations for selecting medical surgical masks
Medical surgical masks are similar to disposable masks. Medical surgical masks must comply with the Chinese pharmaceutical industry standard YY 0469-2011. When purchasing, be sure to check whether this standard is printed on the packaging!
Introduction to KN95 and N95 masks
Let's first understand the meaning of the letters. The letters represent the particles blocked:
"N" represents: non-oil particles (not resistant to oil);"R" represents: oil and non-oil particles (resistant to oil);"P" means: strong blocking of oil and non-oil particles (strongly resistant, oil proof). For preventing droplet virus transmission, the "N" series is sufficient.
The number represents the filtration efficiency
"95" represents: the filtration efficiency reaches 95%, which means that when tested with 0.3 microns particles, the particle concentration inside the mask should be lower than outside the mask by more than 95%. In addition to 95, there are 90, 99, 100, etc. The higher the number, the higher the protection level.
The difference between KN95 and N95 masks
N95 is the standard set by the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health;KN95 is the standard set by China, GB2626-2006. The protective effect of KN95 and N95 is basically the same, only the name of different national standards is different.
Do I need to bring a breathing valve?
The breathing valve is a one-way valve, which is closed when inhaling and open when exhaling. It can reduce the resistance when exhaling, but now it is in an extraordinary period, it is not recommended to bring the breathing valve to avoid your own illness and virus transferring out.
Precautions for wearing masks
Mask needs to fit the face, to avoid direct inhalation of unfiltered air, otherwise it is equivalent to wearing in vain;
Timely replacement, it is recommended to replace it once in about 4 hours;
