What is nonwoven?

Non-woven fabrics are widely range used and used in large quantities, involving almost all walks of life. At present, it is one of the fastest growing industries in China and the world, which is called sunrise industry.

What is nonwoven?

The exact name of nonwovens should be nonwovens or non textile fabric because it is a kind of fabric which does not need spinning and weaving. It is only made by arranging short or filament fibers in orientation or randomly to form a web structure, and then strengthened by mechanical, thermal or chemical methods.

Nonwovens break through the traditional textile principle, and have the characteristics of short process flow, fast production speed, high output, low cost, wide use and many sources of raw materials.

Advantages and disadvantages of non-woven fabrics:

Non-woven fabrics have many advantages: 1) ventilation 2) filtration 3) heat preservation 4) water absorption 5) waterproof 6) flexibility 7) not messy 8) feel good, soft 9) lightweight 10) elasticity, restorable 11) no fabric orientation 12) compared with textile fabrics, high productivity, fast production 13) low price and produce in bulk quantity and so on.

The disadvantages are: 1) compared with textile fabrics, the strength and durability is worse. 2) It can not be cleaned like other fabrics. 3) The fibers are arranged in a certain direction, so it is easy to split from the right direction and so on. Therefore, recent improvements in production methods have mainly focused on the prevention of fragmentation.
